VT Garraway UK Equity Market Fund

The VT Garraway UK Equity Market Fund is one of only a quarter of UK funds to have witnessed net inflows in excess of £1m in the past three months during the build up to the shock result of the EU referendum and the following initial turmoil. The Investment Association has released figures showing that outflows from UK equity funds from UK investors have reached £2bn, with the majority of UK funds seeing net redemptions over this period. Indeed, the IA UK All Companies sector was the worst selling sector in July.*

One of the Fund’s key attributes has been its ability to protect returns in down markets. Compared to the FTSE 350 TR Index, the Fund ranks top quartile within the sector for cumulative downside capture: investors have only been exposed to 72.18% of the cumulative index decline since inception, yet have enjoyed an impressive upside capture of 105.56% over the same period.

The Fund remains top quartile since launch in May 2012, generating an average yield of 2.93% over the same period. The strategy’s clear philosophy of harnessing positive change, with its disciplined focus on companies generating positive earnings revisions and associated medium term price momentum, has delivered attractive risk adjusted returns and seen the Fund added to an increasing number of buy lists and core portfolios. As a result of wider access, and despite recent market volatility, the strategy’s AUM has grown to approximately £90m, with in excess of £70m of this in the Fund itself.
